When Cliff busted out our first DIY Halloween/fall decor (Giant paint chip sign) I was blown away. It’s seriously so freak’n cute it made me want to puke a little (click here if you want to see it). I was so inspired/jealous of his brilliant project that I found myself wandering the aisles of Home Depot looking for something to top his first amazing DIY Halloween project. Eventually I landed in the paint dept and found the Home Depot 69 cent yard sticks. They were basically screaming “I’m Home Depot Halloween orange, buy me damn it!” So I did and that’s how this large Homemade Halloween yardstick pumpkin luminary was conceived.

It looks like I did this alone but because I had to get this finished for today’s blog post I enlisted the help of Cliff and his power tools. For those sans power tools you can easily craft up this luminary with hammer/nails and a manual saw (since the curves are pretty basic). More beauty shots!

Maybe my DIY Halloween Yardstick Pumpkin Luminary isn’t as good as Cliff’s Giant Paint Chip Sign but because I used yard sticks it still fits our fun fall DIY decor. I can already tell that keeping up with this DIY decor theme throughout the entire holiday season is going to be challenging but that’s where Cliff and I thrive. So stay tuned!
