In The Spotlight
Once again we were named Home Depot’s DIYer of the day for our paint chip costumes. This gave us our highest traffic spike yet!
We were also guests on FaveCrafts Radio alongside Terri O, Trish Preston from Two Peas in a Pod, and Jenny Barnett Rohrs from Craft Test Dummies. To hear our segment (and how we fought over pink Krylon paint) click here and fast forward to 25 minutes on the October Episode.
His favorite October project
Wine Cork Silhouette Jewelry Holder because I got to use my new nail gun and it made Andrea really happy. Proof of happiness in the picture.

Her favorite October project
Giant Holiday Paint Chip Door Sign because I’m a sucker for paint chip crafts and glitter!

Public obsessions this month
Apparently we were also obsessed with all things paint!
Secret obsessions this month
Cliff: Finding the perfect bike and glittering pumpkins. They have nothing in common but I obsessed over both equally. The bike I finally purchased is awesome. The pumpkins turned out questionable and made me realize I should probably leave the glittering to Andrea.
Andrea: Mid century furniture and crazy nail polish combos. The couch is awesome but unfortunately it’s very uncomfortable and so it will not be staying in our home.
Would rather forget
Andrea: The cardboard and yarn leaf craftastrophe project. You win some you lose some.

Cliff: Cleaning up Gracie’s nuclear poo. No idea what that dog got into but there’s noway I would have been able to clean it up without a face mask.

Home projects that we’ve been putting off
Cliff: Baseboard and transition caulking. Thinking about doing that makes me want to take a nap.

Andrea: Cell phone charging station. I’m trying to forget that I ever started that challenge over a month ago! We aren’t giving up. Maybe we just need some more inspiration?

Our current cell phone charging area.
Love from the Hand Make My Day Readers
Andrea’s High School friend made our Paint Chip Address Cards and sent in a cute photo!

Love this comment from Donna:
“You know how you see a post on Facebook and you click it ’cause it looks interesting, and then you read a humorous blog post that references other previous humorous posts and then you discover that you’ve just lost 30 minutes engrossed in this paint chip brouhaha? Well, yeah, that just happened. Thank God for DVR’s! “
Projects in the works
Andrea: Holiday cards and alternative Christmas trees! I can’t show you too much because it’s a surprise ;)

Cliff: Rip out the ugly old kitchen light fixtures and DIY some nice recessed lighting.
Photos that made us LOL
Phew! Sometimes it’s hard to know how much you’ve created until you actually see it all rolled up into one neat little package! Time to put the orange paint away and get to working on some Christmas colors. I see green paint chips in our future…..
Craft on.
