I can’t think of a better pattern to capture the magic and charm of the Fourth of July than a patriotic chevron pattern, can you? Here’s an example of how you can craft up some quick and simple Fourth of July decor using pretty chevron patterned paper that I designed just for this occasion!
Folded Fan Flowers
Accordion fold patterned paper every half inch. Pinch in the middle, then fan out and glue open sides together. Make 3 different sizes and use two half fans to make one larger flower.
Glue flowers to skewers or craft sticks. Then arrange your flowers from back to front by poking them into painted and glittered craft foam. Layer it so that most of the sticks are covered up by the rows in front. I usually add a little embellishment to the center of my fan flowers but these are more like fireworks so I left the embellishments out.
Skip the headache of trying to find the right sized vase for your decorations and just paint and glitter the craft foam that you are poking your decorations into! Dab on red paint and sprinkle glitter while paint is still wet. Then Anchor your foam to a similarly sized tile or craft mirror with hot glue! That should keep it from blowing away in the wind ;)
You HAVE to use glitter in this design and I’m not just saying that because I’m a glitter obsessed freak. Using glitter actually takes away from the porous surface of the craft foam!
Red is a versatile color which can be used throughout the year (Christmas, Valentines day, 4th of July and so on). Just add a coordinating bow and voila – instant holiday and party decor!

Not many of you know this but for years and years I’ve been designing all kinds of neat things for friends and family. Well, recently strangers have been asking to purchase my work which feels great, but I don’t have a marketplace! So, finally I decided to get my designs together and make them available to the public. They aren’t ready to purchase just yet but to kick off my venture into selling my downloadable designs I decided to give you this neat patriotic chevron pattern for FREE! Get it…. FREEdom flags.
Download and print onto white printer paper, then cut across the blue chevron in the middle of the page. Each 8.5×11 page will give you two flags so you may want to print out about 4 sheets. Attach to a pretty patriotic ribbon with tape or glue! Easy peasy Fourth of July Craft!
