Can I just say friends that are foodies rock? Case and point our friend JP who can whip up the most scrumptious meals with ease. Our latest JP meal was a to die for authentic Lebanese cuisine. No joke it was the best meal both Cliff and I have had in months. I give it 5 AMAZE-balls out of 5 AMAZE-balls (that’s our official ranking system).

Lebanese Appetizers. I forget the names but from left to right I call them: Leafy yummy thing, French feta, delish olives, melt in your mouth creamy yogurt dip and crazy awesome hummus.

Instead of trying to add a mediocre dessert to aforementioned AMAZE-balls dinner, Cliff and I decided that wine, gluten free beer and enough supplies to start some Vision Board Collages would be a great way to show our friend the master chef how much we appreciate his hard work and artistry in the kitchen. After all JP had been talking about putting together a vision board for the past 6 months or so.

I know you are asking “Andrea how did you possibly get 2 boys to craft with you.” To which I say “Keep it simple, leave the girly crafting supplies at home (no glitter), make sure they’ve had a couple drinks and above all don’t call it crafting.” Boys think crafting is for girls.

Beer, magazines, markers, canvas and Mod Podge.

The reality of the situation is that I got them sauced, threw some old ReadyMade Magazines at them and told them to start cutting. JP dove right in, clipping out all kinds of great photos and phrases, where as Cliff only managed to cut out a picture of a glass of beer and a sailboat. Maybe his vision is to be a Pirate? Hard to tell with that guy sometimes ;)

To create your own little Vision Board Collage party you really don’t need much else than some old magazines, canvas, Mod Podge and some markers. I found that Prisma Color Markers were a great way to have the detail work of a marker while also being able to use them like water colors when brushed over with Mod Podge (that’s how I got a wash of pink across my Vision Board Collage).

JP's very natural colors really go nicely with his key words of comfort and balance.

Yes it's mostly pink..... What of it?

The best part is that once we come back together for another nice meal (hopefully JP’s wife will be home to enjoy the fun), we’ll also spend more time adding to our Vision Board Collages. Maybe we’ve started a tradition? I hope so because I can’t get enough of JP’s AMAZE-balls cook’n.

Craft On.
